A Quiet Place: Day One: Lupita Nyong'o delivers her best performance since 12 Years a Slave in horror prequel

Serving as a prequel to the previous two installments in the “A Quiet Place” series, the latest film from director Michael Sarnoski is a terrifying look into how the world went quiet following the alien invasion. Like in the previous films, “A Quiet Place: Day One” will have your heart racing from start to finish thanks to the silent atmosphere and the designs of the aliens coming off as creative and scary. The setting and situation that the characters are in will have you on the edge of your seat because if they make one bit of noise, then they will be dead in seconds, and these elements, which have been vital to the series, once again succeed to frightening levels. Lupita Nyong’o delivers her best performance since her Oscar-winning performance in “12 Years a Slave” as a terminally ill patient trying to survive the first day of the alien invasion. Joseph Quinn gives an outstanding performance alongside Lupita Nyong’o and manages to hold his own against one of the best actresses working today. Thanks to Michael Sarnoski’s excellent direction and incredible performances by Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn, “A Quiet Place: Day One” is a fantastic entry in the franchise and, much like the film will have you holding onto your breath not to make a sound until the end of the movie.
