Wuthering Heights: Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi are great in an average period piece film
Based on Emily Brontë's 1847 novel, the newest romantic period drama from Emerald Fennell looks gorgeous, but the story is so complex that it will determine whether you can stay engaged. What ultimately determines whether you enjoy the film is Emerald Fennell’s direction, because the story is a slow burner. The choice to use pop music in an old Victorian setting feels very out of place. Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi deliver great performances and have great chemistry togethe

Crime 101: Chris Hemsworth leads a fantastic ensemble cast in the newest crime thriller
Based on the novel by Don Winslow, the newest crime thriller from director Bart Layton is a suspenseful drama featuring an incredible cast, all tangled up in a crime that connects them, even if they don’t realize it. Director Bart Layton does an excellent job balancing the characters so they all have a reason to matter to the story, while also giving you a tale full of twists and turns that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Chris Hemsworth delivers an excellent performance

Pillion: Harry Melling and Alexander Skarsgård are great in the newest A24 dramedy
A24 is back with another film, and this time, they are exploring the world of gay men having a BDSM relationship. The film does an excellent job of balancing drama and comedy, making for a great movie that can be slow-paced at times. Director Harry Lighton does a great job of showing the highs and lows of a romantic couple’s personal lives, but at times the pacing felt too slow, making the story drag. Harry Melling and Alexander Skarsgård deliver strong performances as a roma

Send Help: Rachel McAdams and Dylan O'Brien are excellent in the newest survival horror film
If there was any way to describe this movie, it's “Survivor” meets “Castaway” meets “Saw”. The newest horror-suspense film from director Sam Raimi is a nail-biter and one of the most original horror films I’ve seen in a while. Director Sam Raimi manages to bring his campy elements to a story that is slowly paced but done on purpose, so the film can build to a climax of unpredictable, insane paranoia while stranded on a deserted island. Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien deliver

Mercy: Excellent premise on paper but fails on the big screen
You ever get that feeling where you see a movie that has an awesome premise, but once you see it, you start to become bored with it? Folks, I regret to inform you that the newest action film, “Mercy,” has a great premise but feels boring within its isolated setting. The film takes place in an interrogation room, and we see everything else through AI computers, but everything comes at you very fast, so it is hard to really get a sense of what’s going on within the plot. The Housemaid: Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried are excellent in Paul Feig's latest suspenseful thriller
Based on the novel by Freida McFadden, Paul Feig’s latest suspense thriller is an excellent film that will have you on the edge of your seat thanks to the film’s unpredictable twists and turns. After surprising everyone with his comedy suspense film “A Simple Favor”, director Paul Feig goes all in on the dramatic side of the film spectrum as opposed to comedy, which he is known for. Feig proved with “A Simple Favor” that he’s not just a comedy man, and with “The Housemaid”, P

Avatar: Fire and Ash: James Cameron directs a visually stunning masterpiece
The third film in the worldwide phenomenon is a spectacular visual masterpiece that reminds us all why we love going to the movies. Director James Cameron returns to the world of Pandora, picking up right where the previous film left off and continuing the story of the Sully family through the film’s fantastic visual effects and stellar ensemble cast. Clocking in at three hours and seventeen minutes, the movie feels a bit too long, but it still manages to keep you engaged in

Marty Supreme: Timothée Chalamet delivers the best performance of his career
Loosely inspired by the life and career of table tennis player Marty Reisman, the newest A24 film from director Josh Safdie is an adrenaline rush from start to finish and contains a career-defining performance from actor Timothée Chalamet. Using the same style he used for his previous film “Uncut Gems”, director Josh Safdie delivers another tense drama that will have your heart pounding the whole movie, hoping that everything goes right for Marty despite suffering one major s

Frankenstein: Oscar Isaac and Jacob Elordi are phenomenal in Guillermo del Toro's latest cinematic masterpiece
Based on the iconic story “Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus” by Mary Shelley, Guillermo del Toro's latest gothic horror film is an absolute masterpiece that, unlike previous versions of “Frankenstein”, is the first to be based on the actual novel and knocks it out of the park on the first try. Guillermo del Toro tells a story of resurrection and what it means to be human by splitting the film into two chapters and telling it from the perspectives of Dr. Frankenstein an
