The third film in the worldwide phenomenon is a spectacular visual masterpiece that reminds us all why we love going to the movies. Director James Cameron returns to the world of Pandora, picking up right where the previous film left off and continuing the story of the Sully family through the film’s fantastic visual effects and stellar ensemble cast. Clocking in at three hours and seventeen minutes, the movie feels a bit too long, but it still manages to keep you engaged in the overall story and glued to the screen from start to finish. The ensemble cast features returning actors and newcomers to the series, all delivering excellent performances, which include Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Oona Chaplin, Kate Winslet, Edie Falco, Jermaine Clement, Giovanni Ribisi, Jack Champion, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, and David Thewlis. Thanks to James Cameron’s incredible direction, fantastic visual effects, and excellent performances from the ensemble cast, “Avatar: Fire and Ash” is a worthy follow up to 2022’s “Avatar: The Way of Water” and while not as strong as that film, it manages to show how incredible this series of movies managed to level up its technology showing how far we’ve come since the original film back in 2009.
