The eighth installment in the DC Extended Universe is stylish, hilarious, and kick-ass. Director Cathy Yan keeps the DCEU successful movie train going by giving us some compelling leading female characters and gives us the Harley Quinn movie we deserve since 2016's "Suicide Squad." Reprising her role from "Suicide Squad," Margot Robbie is fantastic as Harleen Quinzel AKA Harley Quinn. Robbie, as Harley Quinn is one of those comic book roles that an actor was made for this role, and it shows in every scene she's in. The rest of the team is made up of some fantastic performances that include Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain, and Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya. Ewan McGregor is fantastic as the main villain Roman Sionis AKA Black Mask and is easily the best villain in the DCEU to date. "Birds of Prey" is one of the funniest superheroes movies I've seen since 2016's "Deadpool," and a lot of that is due to Cathy Yan's direction, a fantastic soundtrack, and the incredible performances by Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and Ewan McGregor as Black Mask. You can also tell that Margot Robbie is having the time of her life as this is a role that demonstrates that Margot Robbie isn't portraying Harley Quinn but instead IS Harley Quinn and is in the same class as Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, and Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man.
