In a year that has caused the world to be so scary with the coronavirus pandemic and dividing the country with the recent election, here comes a mockumentary that is very timely and funny. Sacha Baron Cohen reprises his iconic role as Borat Sagdiyev. Like how he portrayed the character back in 2006, Cohen does not hold anything back to show the political and economic world in a hilarious matter. Along the way, Borat is accompanied by his teenage daughter Tutar played by newcomer Maria Bakalova and delivers an excellent breakout performance in the film. “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm” is an absolute blast and is just as good as the original film. Thanks to its amazing direction by Jason Woliner, hilarious story, fantastic performances by Sacha Baron Cohen and Maria Bakalova, “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm” manages to take elements happening in today’s world such as the Coronavirus Pandemic and the intense political climate and uses them in a way that’s funny but knowing when to be serious. “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm” is easily the best comedy of the year and is a film that will have everyone saying, “Wa wa wee wa.”
