Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness: The most ambitious Marvel film to date

Corey Quinto

Nine years since directing his last movie, “Oz the Great and Powerful,” Sam Raimi returns to the marvel family with the twenty-eighth film in the worldwide phenomenon known as the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Despite being filled with pacing issues, Sam Raimi combines horror and action to deliver a visually stunning superhero film. Returning for the sixth time, Benedict Cumberbatch provides his best performance to date as Dr. Stephen Strange. Continuing the story arc that began with the Disney Plus miniseries “WandaVision,” Elizabeth Olsen gives a powerful performance as Wanda Maximoff, AKA Scarlet Witch. Xochitl Gomez gives an excellent breakout performance as America Chavez and has fantastic chemistry with Benedict Cumberbatch. The supporting cast features returning favorites from the first “Doctor Strange” movie, including Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Rachel McAdams. “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” is the most ambitious film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date, thanks to fantastic visual effects, excellent direction from Sam Raimi, and outstanding performances from Cumberbatch, Olsen, and Gomez. This sequel surpasses the original movie released back in 2016.
