Thirty-two years have passed since we last saw the iconic ghost-catching team save the world from supernatural demons, and now they have returned for one last job. “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” is a beautiful tribute to the beloved 1980’s comedy classic brought to you by director Jason Reitman. He is the son of famed director Ivan Reitman and the mastermind behind the first two films. Jason Reitman finishes what his father started by paying homage to the original and manages to honor the late great Harold Ramis making this one of the most emotional and satisfying tributes of all time. Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Ernie Hudson reprise their icon roles of Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, and Winston Zeddemore. All three actors are fantastic returning their icon roles but serve as minor roles to allow the new characters to shine and bring the legacy of Harold Ramis as Egon Spengler to an emotional finale that you will never forget. Carrie Coon, Paul Rudd, Finn Wolfhard, and McKenna Grace are amazing as the new main characters and are great new additions to this beloved series. Thanks to Jason Reitman’s incredible direction, cool visual effects, fantastic performances from its ensemble cast, and an emotional tribute to Harold Ramis, “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” is the best sequel to a 1980’s classic film that was one hundred percent worth the thirty-two-year wait.
