Twenty-nine years after the release of "Happy Gilmore", Adam Sandler delivers the sequel we never asked for but got it anyway. "Happy Gilmore 2" is not the most excellent comedy of the year. Still, it does a good job of recapturing the nostalgia of the original despite having a plot that feels similar to the original. Adam Sandler delivers a hilarious performance reprising his role of Happy Gilmore. Sandler does a great job returning to the role that got him his breakthrough after his run on "Saturday Night Live" and reminding us why we all fell in love with him in 1996. Following her breakthrough appearance in "You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah", Sunny Sandler delivers an excellent performance as Happy Gilmore's daughter in the film, who is also Adam Sandler's daughter in real life. The film also contains a fun supporting cast of returning actors and newcomers, which includes Julie Bowen as Virginia, Christopher McDonald as Shooter McGavin, Benny Safdie, Bad Bunny, Haley Joel Osment, Ben Stiller as Hal L., and two-time Major champion John Daly playing a fictionalized version of himself. We also get to see four of the biggest names in golf play fictionalized versions of themselves and turn in great performances, which includes two time U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau, five time Major champion Brooks Koepka, Career Grand Slam winner Rory McIlroy, and four time Major champion as well the number one ranked golfer in the world Scottie Scheffler. "Happy Gilmore 2" may not be the best comedy sequel ever. However, it's still a hilarious film that everyone will enjoy, thanks to its nostalgia and a hilarious performance from Adam Sandler.
