Nine years have passed since we last saw the emotions from the Oscar-winning film “Inside Out.” Now, they are back in an emotional and heartwarming sequel, just like the original. “Inside Out 2” expands the lore by introducing us to many excellent new characters and tackles many great themes of Anxiety, growing up, and friendship. Reprising her role of Joy, Amy Poehler delivers another fantastic performance as the leader of the five primary emotions. Maya Hawke delivers an excellent performance as the new emotion of Anxiety and is a great counterpart to Poehler’s Joy. The supporting cast features a great ensemble of characters that combines the original cast with new members, which includes Lewis Black as Anger, Tony Hale as Fear replacing Bill Hader from the first film, Liza Lapira as Disgust replacing Mindy Kaling from the first film, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Ayo Edebiri as Envy, Adèle Exarchopoulos as Ennui, and Paul Walter Hauser as Embarrassment. Thanks to its amazing animation, incredible themes and screenplay, and fantastic performances from Amy Poehler and Maya Hawke, “Inside Out 2” is just as good as the original film and another masterpiece from Pixar Animation.
