Mercy: Excellent premise on paper but fails on the big screen

You ever get that feeling where you see a movie that has an awesome premise, but once you see it, you start to become bored with it? Folks, I regret to inform you that the newest action film, “Mercy,” has a great premise but feels boring within its isolated setting. The film takes place in an interrogation room, and we see everything else through AI computers, but everything comes at you very fast, so it is hard to really get a sense of what’s going on within the plot. Chris Pratt does his best in this film, but its uninspired plot, choppy editing, and lack of character development don’t give him much to work with. “Mercy” could have been a fun action film, but its sluggish premise and pacing will have you paying more attention to the countdown clock that keeps popping up, wondering if it's time to leave yet.
