Morbius: One of the worst comic book movies within the past twenty years

The newest Marvel film from Sony Pictures was delayed several times from July 2020 to April 2022, and upon seeing this movie, I now know why. "Morbius" is unfocused, dull, and a lazy knock-off of a cheap comic book movie from the 1990s. The direction by Daniel Espinosa is a messy entrée that used the wrong ingredients, and the result drove the customers away with an undigested meal and shut the place down by the health inspector. The action scenes are filmed poorly, the visuals are dated, and the film features great actors such as Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal, and Tyrese Gibson, but they are given weak material to work with. The only two positives in this film are that Jared Leto is pretty good as the protagonist Dr. Michael Morbius, the Living Vampire, and Matt Smith is pretty entertaining as the film's main antagonist. Despite featuring good performances by Jared Leto and Matt Smith, "Morbius" is one of the worst comic book movies within the past twenty years, and even though the movie is an hour and forty minutes, it felt like five hours.

Great review. Love the entree analogy.
