Palm Springs review: Another movie to use the “Groundhog Day” formula but still manages to have a ton of heart by mixing it with some amusing moments. Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti are hilarious as the two main characters and have great chemistry. J.K. Simmons is also perfect as the other person stuck in the time loop. “Palm Springs” is a feel-good romantic comedy with hilarious moments, excellent direction from debut filmmaker Max Barbakow, and great lead performances from Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti. Much like “Edge of Tomorrow” and “Happy Death Day,” “Palm Springs” is the “Groundhog Day” of romantic comedies; however, this one felt like I took a nice vacation and never want to leave this wonderful getaway retreat.
