Regretting You: One of the worst movies of the year

Based on the novel of the same name by Colleen Hoover, the newest romantic drama is a forgettable movie that, like its title, will make you regret paying to see it. Having previously directed 2014's "The Fault in Our Stars", director Josh Boone hope to bring the same charm and relatability that he did with that but what we got with his direction instead was a film with no likeable characters, a screenplay that has scenes that get replayed one too many times, a conflict that is not compelling, and a romance that has two people with zero chemistry which sounds like something out of a Nicholas Sparks adaptation. The ensemble cast appears bored and delivers bland performances to secure a quick paycheck, including Allison Williams, Mckenna Grace, Dave Franco, and Mason Thames. Due to the film's uninspiring screenplay and the wooden performances from the main cast, "Regretting You" is a mediocre rom-com and, in my opinion, one of the worst movies of the year.
