Street Fighter: An action film made for fans of the game
Based on the popular video game franchise of the same name, director Kitao Sakurai's newest action film isn’t the greatest, but it packs enough Easter eggs and action sequences to entertain fans of the beloved video game franchise. The film has some great action sequences and visual effects, but its main weakness is in its direction. The film looks like it was directed by two people: one who, in the first half, made a fun action film, and the second who made the second half of the film feel rushed and disconnected, as if it didn’t know how to wrap up the film. The film contains an ensemble cast of great performances, which includes Noah Centineo as Ken Masters, Andrew Koji as Ryu, Callina Liang as Chun-Li, Roman Reigns as Akuma, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Cody Rhodes as Guile, Eric André as Don Sauvage, Jason Momoa as Blanka, and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog. “Street Fighter” isn't a perfect movie, but thanks to the action sequences and the performances, it's an enjoyable watch for longtime fans of the “Street Fighter” video game series.
