Based on the novel by Freida McFadden, Paul Feig’s latest suspense thriller is an excellent film that will have you on the edge of your seat thanks to the film’s unpredictable twists and turns. After surprising everyone with his comedy suspense film “A Simple Favor”, director Paul Feig goes all in on the dramatic side of the film spectrum as opposed to comedy, which he is known for. Feig proved with “A Simple Favor” that he’s not just a comedy man, and with “The Housemaid”, Paul Feig continues to show his skills as an incredible director and achieves it with an excellent thriller known as “The Housemaid”. Sydney Sweeney delivers an outstanding performance as the housemaid hired by a wealthy family to clean their home, unaware that they are hiding a dark secret. Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar deliver fantastic performances as a wealthy couple who look good in public but, behind closed doors, are not who they appear to be. Thanks to Paul Feig’s incredible direction and excellent performances from Sweeney, Seyfried, and Sklenar, “The Housemaid” is one of the most brilliant suspense thrillers in recent years and continues to establish Paul Feig as one of Hollywood's best versatile directors.
