The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run Review: One of the most celebrated cartoon characters of all time returns in a wonderful, animated adventure that people of all ages will enjoy. The third entry in the SpongeBob movie saga honors the popular Nickelodeon series by combining the great humor the show is known for and the mature heart-wrenching moments to appeal to both kids and adults. The animation looks incredible, and the designs for places such as Bikini Bottom and the lost city of Atlantic City look amazing. Tom Kenny gives an incredible performance as SpongeBob SquarePants. Having played the character since 1999, Kenny’s joyful and upbeat personality he gives SpongeBob reminds us why this character is among one of the greatest cartoon characters of all time. What makes SpongeBob so special is that he sees the good in people no matter the personality they have, and that is evident by the way he treats his friends, which includes his best friend Patrick Star, the grouchy Squidward Tentacles, the upbeat Sandy Cheeks, and the greedy Mr. Krabs. Along the way, SpongeBob encounters a bunch of new and exciting characters brought to life by incredible actors such as Awkwafina, Tiffany Haddish, Danny Trejo, Snoop Dogg, and Keanu Reeves. “SpongeBob on the Run” is a fun, exciting, and emotional thrill ride from beginning to end that the whole family will enjoy. Thanks to the incredible animation and fantastic performance by Tom Kenny, “Sponge on the Run” honors the series with great respect and gives SpongeBob his place as one of the greatest cartoon characters of all time alongside Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse.
