Wuthering Heights: Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi are great in an average period piece film

Based on Emily Brontë's 1847 novel, the newest romantic period drama from Emerald Fennell looks gorgeous, but the story is so complex that it will determine whether you can stay engaged. What ultimately determines whether you enjoy the film is Emerald Fennell’s direction, because the story is a slow burner. The choice to use pop music in an old Victorian setting feels very out of place. Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi deliver great performances and have great chemistry together. “Wuthering Heights” may feature excellent cinematography and great performances from Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, but Emerald Fennell’s direction will decide if you enjoy the movie or not. While many people will enjoy this movie, it wasn’t my cup of tea.
